The Bodacious Brew-Thru is an expansion to the company’s popular brick-and-mortar location next door and allows them to offer on-the-go service. The client proposed the use of shipping containers to minimize construction cost since this is intended to be a temporary use of the site until they determine the best use of this urban infill site in the city’s historic business district.
The architect’s challenge was to accommodate the Bodacious Brew-Thru program into three shipping containers and prepare the project for approval by the city’s architectural review board. In addition to the Brew-Thru, the project site accommodates employee parking for the client’s nearby retail and dining venues and a childhood early learning sensory garden.
Since its opening, the Bodacious Brew-Thru has provided the community with an outdoor gathering spot for meeting friends or colleagues and providing small children with a safe space of their own to learn, interact with nature, and socialize with others.
